The imagery in my art comes from summers spent on Madeline Island. The lake feels much more like a sea than it does a lake. I was inspired by the interaction between water and sand to create an ever changing yet smooth shore line. This relationship is reflected in the fluid silhouettes of my pieces, as well as the use of negative and positive space. My work embraces the natural comfort experienced on Lake Superior and aim to become the vase, cup, or bowl you reach for first on a shelf.
